The challenges in the design of this unique intermodal transportation center were high traffic loads and high population density urban location.

The effectiveness of this proposed scheme lies in the integration of the bus, light rail transit, and metro systems in a program solution that combines access into the facility from above ground level, at ground level and below street level while utilizing minimal building volume that does not intrude into the busy city fabric and pattern language.

Known as the "5th wall", the building facades will serve as a mega-billboard allowing the city and operators of the facility to gain extra income through visual advertisements and sponsorships.
