Future City MXD and Entertainment Complex Master Plan
Navi Mumbai, India

Nestled atop a green hill, the main objectives for this international master plan competition were to create a unique residential community and a one-of-a-kind worldwide entertainment destination for India. This 250 acre eco-sensitive development will integrate commercial, residential, and convention center districts with state-of-the-art entertainment and outdoor amusement park venues.

Inspired by the "Banyan Tree" metaphor, the main Festival Walk is covered by an undulating open air canopy that provides shading from the harsh tropical sun and protection from the seasonal monsoons to allow for the continuous use of the entertainment complex. The project will also generate measurable renewable energy for the complex by harnessing solar energy and wind powers.

Quantum-AIP led the main design efforts for the Indian Consortium Team that won the first prize and land rights to develop this project. The design team also worked with local architect, ABA, on the technical, engineering and feasibility studies. Completion of the full development is slated for 2020.
